WBUR report: Laughter Makes You Healthier

I say this all the time, and now here's even more evidence. Laughter really IS medicine. Massachusetts General Hospital runs one of the growing number of "Laughter Clubs" sprouting up across the nation. The health benefits are clear.

Listen to today's WBUR segment on this:

ANY kind of laughter will work. Laugh even when you don't have any particular reason to laugh. MAKE yourself laugh. And most importantly, be on the lookout for opportunities to laugh every day. CREATE opportunities to laugh. Be silly. Laugh with your children. Watch funny shows or read funny books.

Need some ideas? Two things that make me laugh:

  • Gilligan's Island re-runs (you can get them from Netflix or buy the DVDs)
  • Calvin and Hobbes comic books

Laughter not only makes you feel happy, but it makes you physically healthier! What a fun way to stay healthy!
