Quote of the Week for Special Needs Parents: Invincible Summer

In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.

-- Albert Camus

Many of the parents I talk to say that their children with special needs bring out the best in them. They talk of the strength, determination, resourcefulness, and fortitude that they never knew they had. They talk about the joys their children bring them, and the inner reserves they can call upon even in serious situations or difficult times. If Albert Camus were with us today, I think he'd agree that parents of children with special needs are a perfect example of his famous quote.

No matter how hectic life gets, be sure to recognize that invincible summer that lies within you.
